Congratulations are in order for Ben McKenzie and Morena Baccarin: the couple is engaged!

A source confirms to PEOPLE that the Gotham costars, whose romance was revealed in September 2015, are happily engaged and making plans to walk down the aisle.

The celebratory news comes eight months after the parents welcomed their first child together, daughter Frances Laiz, in March.

Just days before meeting the newborn, McKenzie, 38, told PEOPLE, “[Being a father] is something I’ve wanted for a long time,” and added, “I’m excited about all of it, poop, diapers and everything!”

The Deadpool actress, 37, who is mom to 3-year-old son Julius with estranged husband Austin Chick, said of McKenzie’s support before the pair welcomed their baby, “Ben’s the sweetest… It’s very nice to work with your significant other, especially when you’re pregnant because you know you’ll get some extra TLC and get taken care of.”

Congrats to the happy couple!

via Variety:

NBC is developing a series set to star Morena Baccarin, Variety has learned. She is also attached as an executive producer.

While the series is in early development with just a script commitment, should the project be greenlit at NBC, Baccarin would become a recurring character on Fox’s “Gotham,” on which she currently stars. She would continue to have a presence on “Gotham” for as long as the series is on the air, and will not be written out. If the NBC series is not greenlit, she will remain a series regular.

The NBC show follows a former police officer turned high-powered attorney, played by Baccarin (the character’s name is also Morena), who navigates the ever-changing landscape of New York City politics, law enforcement and the justice system, all while juggling a complicated personal life.

The project hails from writer Ken Sanzel (“Blue Bloods,” “Numb3rs”), who will exec produce with Tony Krantz, Elliot Halpern and Baccarin. Co-exec producers are Drew Comins, Sarah Jackson and Elizabeth Trojian. ITV Studios, Flame Venture and Over the Pond Production are producing.

For Baccarin, the project would mark her latest starring network role, following ABC’s sci-fi drama “V,” which ran for two seasons from 2009 to 2011. After “V,” she starred on “Homeland,” which landed her an Emmy nomination. She is also known from “Stargate,” plus “Firefly” and the follow-up film “Serenity.” Aside from “Gotham,” she recently had an arc on “The Flash,” and also starred in Ryan Reynolds’ box office smash “Deadpool.” She is repped by UTA.

If picked up to series, each season will focus on a different protagonist’s journey through modern dating and relationships.

Baccarin will guest-star in the pilot as an old friend of Jay’s. The cast also includes Jim Belushi, who will play Jay’s dad and business partner, and Amy Seimetz (The Girlfriend Experience), who will play Lexi, Jay’s former step-sister.

Stu Zicherman (The Affair) wrote the pilot, which will be directed by Craig Johnson (The Skeleton Twins). The two will exec produce with Katims and his producing partner, Michelle Lee. Showtime, Universal TV and True Jack Productions will produce the half-hour.
