via Entertainment Weekly:

Everybody’s favorite Firefly Companion and Homeland refugee is returning to CBS’ The Mentalist.

Morena Baccarin is coming back to the veteran crime drama for a guest star appearance in the third episode of season seven. She’ll reprise her role as sexy sociopath Erika Flynn, who previously manipulated and seduced Patrick Jane (Simon Baker).

Here’s the set-up: “Jane teams up with Erika Flynn in Beirut, Lebanon, where he and Lisbon have gone at the request of the CIA to take down an international weapons dealer. Erika has agreed to help Jane and the CIA in exchange for a pardon on the murder charges she’s still facing and the chance to return to the U.S. But as always Erika has agendas of her own, one of which may, or may not, be inserting herself between Jane and Lisbon.”

The Mentalist will return to CBS in midseason.

Firefly fans, rejoice! In case you weren’t aware, a Firefly video game is currently in production by Quantum Mechanix Inc. They announced this morning that the entire cast, Morena included, will be lending their voices to the game.

They posted the following on their Facebook:

Nathan, Alan, Adam, Sean and Ron have already recorded their parts, and Morena, Jewel and Summer are on the schedule and will be in studio soon. And we’re currently working with Gina to find a time for her to record.

There’s an epic new story they’ll be helping tell (and when we say “epic”, we mean “EPIC”) and sidequests where you might just run into a familiar face.

In addition to the BDHs, Michael Fairman has joined the cast to reprise his role as Niska. We’ve already recorded Michael and his performance was nothing short of bone-chilling. Look forward to taking some jobs from Niska, if you dare!

The game will be released in Spring of 2015. Find out more information here. Until then, here is the game’s first trailer.

via The Hollywood Reporter:

The animated indie, directed by Jason Axinn, centers on a young woman (Dani Lennon) who must defeat her powerful, evil father in order to save herself and her siblings.

Baccarin has been cast as Gamemaster, an otherworldly entity who entraps hapless humans into diabolical conflicts while her species gambles on the outcome. Wise plays Cyrus, the dying, wealthy and embittered industrialist who gathers his family, ostensibly to discuss his estate — but what he really has in mind for them is something else entirely.

Moseley will voice Cyrus’ twisted henchman, who believes he’s still a charmer despite having survived a terrible and disfiguring accident.

From Coverage Ink Films, the horror project is currently in production and eyeing release in early 2015. Jim Cirile and Tanya C. Klein wrote the script and will executive produce the film, which is produced by Paige Barnett and Cindi Rice.

Baccarin plays Jessica Brody on the hit series Homeland, and has also appeared on The Good Wife and The Mentalist. Her upcoming films include Paul Feig’s Spy and indie The Red Tent. She’s repped by UTA, Seven Summits Pictures & Management and Jackoway Tyerman.
