While speaking to Morena Baccarin about Homeland, I began to notice that the conversation had a bizarre undercurrent of urgency, like a distant bomb was ticking on the telephone line. But that’s really how it is with everything about Homeland: the stakes are never less than sky-high, betrayal is lurking everywhere, and you never know when something (or someone) is about to explode in your face. This is true even for Baccarin’s character Jessica Brody, the earnest military mom who is just beginning to realize how deep her husband’s deception goes. On Sunday’s episode, we saw Sgt. Brody’s wife come into her own as a political figure, while at the same time threatening to tear her photogenic family apart in order to get at the truth. Baccarin spoke to GQ about just how much Jessica suspects, how likely she is to leave Brody for Mike, and how stressful it can be to work on a show where everything can change in an instant.

The Q&A can be found here – once again, beware of spoilers!
