According to The Wrap, “V” will be shutting down production for around two weeks stating creative purposes.

ABC’s buzz-heavy new fall drama “V” is taking a two-week creative hiatus.

Warner Bros. TV has decided to temporarily shut down production on the alien invasion series, with filming scheduled to halt next Wednesday, a studio rep confirmed exclusively to TheWrap. Because “V” doesn’t premiere until Nov. 3, the move won’t impact scheduling of the series or ABC’s ability to air the six episodes it’s planning for the fourth quarter.

The studio wouldn’t discuss the specific reasons behind the move, saying only that the shutdown was designed to boost “V” in the long-term.

WBTV wants to “take advantage of our November premiere to maximize creative opportunities and deliver the audience the best show possible,” a Warners spokesperson said.

IGN recently got the chance to sit down and talk to Morena and Elizabeth Mitchell about V (mostly about their characters and Alan Tudyk).

Though it’s clear very early on that Anna is hiding much of her people’s true intent from the humans, Baccarin noted, “I think from my perspective, she’s not evil. I think she’s really trying to save her people. I think she’s going to do whatever it takes to do that. I think Anna wants to try to work with humans – but maybe to her advantage and not so much other people’s advantage.”

ABC has posted an official press release for “V” on their website.

ABC announces the premiere of the highly anticipated new series “V,” on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET/PT). “V” is a re-imagining of the 1980s miniseries about the world’s first encounter with an alien race. Simultaneously appearing over every major city in the world, the Visitors (or V’s) promote a message of peace. Through their generous offer to share advanced technology, the V’s build a following that may actually hide a more malevolent agenda, one that twists a very deep component of human nature — devotion.

While the world quickly becomes fascinated with the V’s and their link to wonders just beyond the reach of human understanding, FBI Counter Terrorist Agent Erica Evans (Elizabeth Mitchell) discovers a secret hidden beneath the skin of every V – a secret that may threaten the lives of everyone close to her. Yet for her teenage son, Tyler (Logan Huffman), the V’s are his ticket to something big and hopeful-a new chance for mankind to unite in common goals. To Chad Decker (Scott Wolf), a career-hungry news anchor, his exclusive interview with Anna (Morena Baccarin), the leader of the V’s, is crucial to his dominating the airwaves. Also unsure about the Visitors is Father Jack (Joel Gretsch), a priest questioning his faith in the wake of the Visitors’ arrival. Seeking answers outside the church, Father Jack discovers there are other dissidents who believe the Visitors are not who they say they are, including Ryan Nichols (Morris Chestnut), who is faced with his own life-altering decision when the V’s show up. Never has there been more at stake — it truly is the dawning of a new day.

“V” also stars Lourdes Benedicto as Ryan’s fianc’e, Valerie, and Laura Vandervoort as Lisa, an alluring Visitor who sets her sights on Tyler.

“V” is produced by The Scott Peters Company and HDFilms in association with Warner Bros. Television. Scott Peters (“The 4400,” “The Outer Limits”), Jeffrey Bell (“Day Break,” “Alias”), Steve Pearlman (“Reunion,” “Related”) and Jace Hall (“F.E.A.R,” “Condemned: Criminal Origins” video games) are executive producers. The pilot was directed by Yves Simoneau (“Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee,” “The 4400” sptv050769).

As I mentioned in the previous post, ABC’s turn at the TCA Summer Press Tour was yesterday, and “V” was amongst the featured shows. Morena attended the panel and the network party afterward, and I have added photos from both events. She looks amazing. Be sure to check them out in the gallery. More to come!
